LIVINGSTON – Springfield High School will reopen on Monday, Oct. 3, said Rick Wentzel, Livingston Parish school superintendent.

Wentzel made the announcement at Thursday’s meeting of the Livingston Parish School Board.

Wentzel credited the work of the school staff and school system personnel with having the school ready to open again.

Springfield High was one of the hardest hit schools by floodwaters on Aug 12.

Its students have been platooning with students at Springfield Middle School since Sept. 12.
