Dennis Griffin, Sr. (aka Grip), of Indianapolis, Indiana, departed his life on January 1, 2017, after a short illness. Dennis was born in Indianapolis on July 14, 1944, to the late Ira Griffin, Sr. and Sarah Cooney. He also had resided in Denham Springs, La., during his earlier years from age 2 to his teen years and was raised by his Aunt Willie Mae Griffin who he affectionately called “Mama.” Dennis attended West Livingston High School for a while and later moved back to his home town of Indianapolis in 1964 after getting married to Evelyn Williams Griffin, mother of his children. He worked at Bridgeport Brass Company for many years and other jobs in Indianapolis. Dennis is survived by his daughters; Cassandra Griffin and Lisa Griffin Ball, son; Dennis Griffin Jr., grandchildren; Roger Ball Jr., Ashley Ball, Asha Taylor, D’Angelo Griffin and Titus Johnson, great grandchild; Che’ Taylor, Sp ecial aunt; Willie Mae Griffin and a host of family and friends. Funeral services will be held at noon on January 14,2017 at Louvenia Funeral Home in Indianapolis, Indiana.
