It took a little longer than usual, but the LHSAA boys basketball playoff field is finally set.

ALBANY -- Down one key inside player and with another in early foul trouble, the Denham Springs High girls might’ve been in a tough spot Saturday afternoon in a makeup game at Albany.
DENHAM SPRINGS -- When you put two hungry, desperate and wounded teams on the court together, you expect the competitive nature to be prominent in the storyline.
DENHAM SPRINGS -- Most of the suspense disappeared early Friday when Denham Springs High took on Ponchatoula in a Division I playoff opener, as the Yellow Jackets scored almost at will in a 7-2 rout.
WATSON -- Tremeeka Spikes scored 14 of her team-high 20 points in the second half as the Denham Springs High Lady Jackets rallied to beat Live Oak 49-42 in a District 4-5A game on Friday.
BATON ROUGE -- By now, the Denham Springs High girls should be used to taking the best every opponent can muster.
The stakes were high when Division II, District 4 rivals Live Oak and Belaire met Jan. 25.
DENHAM SPRINGS -- Tuesday night was no time for the Denham Springs High School boys to rest on their laurels, a fact that Andrew Finley knew all too well.
