USSSA Junior Golf Halloween 7
USSSA Junior Golf will host the USSSA Halloween 7 this weekend at Southern Trace Country Club in Shreveport.
The tournament is open to boys and girls ages 9-18. Players ages 12-18 will play 36 holes (18 per day), while players ages 9-11 will play 18 holes (9 holes per day).
The entry fee for ages 12-18 will be $170, $100 for ages 9-11. Players will be divided into age groups of 9-11, 12-14 and 15-18.
All golfers must be USSSA Registered. Players are required to have USSSA Junior Golf registration, which is free. Players will receive tee gifts at check in, including a black Dri-Fit tournament shirt.
The deadline to enter is 10 p.m. Wednesday.

AJGTA Avertifact Fall Junior Classic
Livingston Parish junior golfers ages 11-18 are invited to compete in the AJGT Averifact Fall Junior Classic at the Joseph M. Bartholomew Golf Course in New Orleans from Nov. 12-13.
The two-day, 36-hole tournament is ranked by the Junior Golf Scoreboard and hosted by the Arrowhead Junior Golf Tour.
The tournament entry fee is $185 and includes two days of green fees, tee gifts and trophies in four age divisions. The tournament registration deadline is noon on Wednesday, Nov. 9.

DSHS Hall of Fame ceremony postponed indefinitely
The annual Denham Springs High School Hall of Fame induction ceremony has been postponed indefinitely in the wake of the rains and flood that damaged Livingston Parish.
The event was scheduled for Sept. 22 at Forest Grove, but the facility will not be available for banquets for at least two months.
Please check back with the Livingston Parish News often for more information on when the banquet and induction will be rescheduled.
Holiday basketball tournament
McKinley High and McKinley Middle School in Baton Rouge will host a middle school tournament Dec. 15-17 and is looking for teams to fill out the field.
The tournament is for boys and girls teams and the cost is $60 per team or $100 if a school sends both teams. There is a two-game game guarantee.

Walker High Huddle Club will meet Thursdays
The Walker High football team will host Huddle Club meetings at 6:30 p.m. every Thursday at the high school cafeteria to get parents, fans and alumni ready for each week’s game this season. DSHS Hall of Fame videos for sale
For a limited time, the Denham Springs Athletic Association will make available to the public copies of the DVD video of the DSHS Athletic Hall of Fame banquet held at Forrest Grove. Included with the video is a 30-minute segment of nostalgic action photographs of numerous Yellow Jacket athletes and coaches covering a variety of sports and many decades of DSHS athletics. DSHS seeks Jacket football history
Denham Springs High School is establishing a complete history of the Yellow Jacket football program, focusing especially on the early years from 1930-1975. Local supporter Kirk Smart has designed a new website (www.denhamspringsfootball.com) dedicated to DSHS football. He is seeking public support for any newspaper articles, old photographs, team pictures, old programs, season records and scores, and statistics from this era. PARDS T-box available
The PARDS driving range has a grass T-box located behind the main baseball stadium that is open from noon until 8:30 p.m. Tuesday through Friday and 3 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. on weekends.
