Hammond Ballet presents “The Nutcracker”

Annabelle Mack returns as Clara in the Hammond Ballet’s production of “The Nutcracker,” a role she also held in 2016. Mack, the daughter of Shane and Bridgette Mack, is a student at Albany Middle School.

Annabelle Mack has returned as Clara in the Hammond Ballet’s production of “The Nutcracker,” a role she also held during the 2016 show.

She will perform with guest artists Alicia Mae Holloway and Saverio Pescucci.

Performances will be held Dec. 7 and Dec. 8 at 7 p.m. at the Columbia Theatre for the Performing Arts, located at 220 East Thomas Street in Hammond.

Other Livingston dancers who will perform in the show are: Kaitlyn Alexis Cowsar, a Springfield Elementary School student, as a polichinelle; Alyssa Gray, a Springfield Elementary School student, as a soldier and an angel; Danielle Hopper, a Springfield Middle School student, as an Arabian and a flower; and Brooklyn Leffel, an Albany Middle School student, as a brigade and cook.

Mack, a student at Albany Middle School, is the daughter of Shane and Bridgette Mack.

She is a member of the Hammond Ballet Senior Company. She has competed in the Youth America Grand Prix International Ballet Competition, where she was recognized in the Top 12 of the Pre-Competitive age division.

She also competed in the American Dance Competition Youth International Ballet Competition, where she placed in the Top 15 in both the Contemporary and Classical categories in the Primary age division.

Mack attended the American Ballet Theatre Young Dancer Summer Workshop in New York City in 2016, as well as the USA International Ballet Competition Dance School in Jackson, MS, in 2018.

She is also a member of the A Touch of Class Performing Arts Company Competition Team, and she was recently selected as a member of the Hollywood Vibe Dance Convention Teen Vibe Company for 2018-2019.

In July 2017, Mack placed 3rd Runner-Up Junior Miss Dance of America in the Dance Masters of America National Competition, where she was awarded the Ballet Audition Scholarship.

She was recently crowned as Teen Miss Dance of Louisiana 2019, and she has previously held the titles of Junior Miss Dance of Louisiana 2017 and Petite Miss Dance of Louisiana 2015.

Guest artists Alicia Mae Holloway and Saverio Pescucci will perform the roles of Sugar Plum and the Nutcracker. Both dancers are from New York.

Holloway began her professional career dancing with the Suzanne Farrell Ballet, and she just began dancing her fourth season with the Dance Theatre of Harlem.

Pescucci is a former member of the Dance Theatre of Harlem. He made his Broadway debut in the current production of “Phantom of the Opera” as the Slave Master/Solo Dancer.
