Raffle tickets are still being sold for a group painting of a Louisiana swamp scene done by members of the Denham Springs Fine Arts Association (DSFAA), the group announced at its monthly meeting Tuesday.

The acrylic nature piece depicts two large cypress trees in the middle of a swamp, with images of their moss-covered limbs reflecting in the murky water below. Raffle tickets can be purchased individually for $1 each or 6 tickets for $5. Tickets can be bought via email by contacting Chris Jones (chrisjonesthouart@gmail.com) or Sandra Middleton (smiddle856@aol.com).

During the meeting, the DSFAA also announced the theme for its fall show, “Restoration, Inspiration and Imagination.” The show will run Oct. 1-31 at the Denham Springs-Walker Branch of the Livingston Parish Library. A show-opening reception will be held at 7 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 1.

Local artist Andrea Phillips will judge the submitted pieces, which will cover four categories: works not under glass, works under glass, photography and miniatures.

The group painting will also be raffled off during the reception.

The DSFAA is a non-profit organization of local artists committed to promoting art education, professional aid, and encouragement to art at all levels. The group meets on the first Monday of each month at 7 p.m. at the Denham Springs/Walker Library, located at 8101 Hwy. 190. Annual dues are $25, which includes spouses.
