Arts Council of Livingston Parish

The Arts Council of Livingston Parish is offering three classes over the next month that will give patrons a chance to illustrate a snowman, decorate cookies and paint a Christmas design.

The first class will be a “Girls Night Out” from 6-8 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 29. Instructor Shelly Frederick will lead the class, in which participants will use acrylic paints to paint a snowman on canvas.

There is a $35 supply fee for the class, and the registration deadline is Nov. 27.

In the second class, children ages 6-12 will work under Frederick as she teaches them how to use watercolors to paint a Christmas design. The cost for the class is $10, which includes supplies.

In the third class, patrons will want to bring their aprons: The Arts Council will host a holiday cookie decorating class from 10-11:30 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 15, after which each student will leave with one dozen decorated cookies.

The fee for the class is $25, and the deadline to register is Dec. 12.

To register for any of the classes, visit and select “Book a Class.”
