Talented theatre students took audiences on a trip to Neverland in their spring production of “Peter Pan,” bringing to life J.M. Barrie’s timeless story of the boy who refused to grow up.

Based on an adaptation by Craig Sodaro, the production ran April 20-22 at Abundant Life Church in Denham Springs. Students performed under the direction of Lauren Bravata.

In the two-act play, the Darling children, enthralled by Peter Pan’s adventures, are whisked away to Neverland, thanks to a dash of fairy dust from Tinker Bell. In Neverland, Wendy, John, and Michael meet the Lost Boys, and Wendy eventually becomes everyone’s mother.

The evil Captain Hook and his crew of swashbucklers capture Wendy and the Lost Boys, forcing Peter Pan to come to their rescue. Together with the ticking crocodile, Peter Pan puts Captain Hook in his place and returns the Darling children to their home.
