DENHAM SPRINGS – A section of Magnolia Beach Road (La. 64) will have nightly lane closures until Thursday, April 11, according to the state Department of Transportation and Development.

The lane closures will be from the Magnolia Beach Road intersection with La. 16 east to the road’s intersection with Springfield Road (La. 1019), according to Darrick Berner, project engineer with the DOTD District 62 office in Hammond.

The closures will be from 8 p.m. until 5 a.m., Berner said.

These lane closures are needed for crews to do asphalt work on the existing roadway, he said.

At least one lane will remain open at all times.

An alternate route for eastbound motorists is Magnolia Beach Road east to Springfield Road, then north to Hunstock Road (La. 1024 East) to La. 16 South.

For westbound motorists, an alternate route is La. 16 North to Hunstock Road, then west to Springfield Road and south to Magnolia Beach Road.
