The trial of a Livingston man who faces charges related to a deadly stabbing in the summer of 2018 is set to begin with jury selection Tuesday, according to the district attorney’s office.

Christopher Glenn, 36, is being charged with second degree murder, attempt second degree murder, and attempt first degree rape when the victim resists but is overcome by force.

According to a news release at the time, deputies from the Livingston Parish Sheriff’s Officer were dispatched to the 10,000 block of Dodger Drive in Denham Springs in reference to a deadly stabbing on June 5, 2018.

At the time, Livingston Parish Sheriff Jason Ard confirmed one adult female died as a result of injuries sustained and that another would survive.

“From what investigators have learned so far, the identified suspect (Christopher Glenn) stabbed the victim multiple times with a knife,” Ard said in a June 2018 news release. “Then, Glenn attacked another adult female in the home with his hands. She survived and is being treated at a local hospital.”

The victim who died from her injuries was identified as 44-year-old Tosha Smith. The other victim who was attacked but survived was later identified as Jayme Glenn.

It was later confirmed that multiple children were inside the residence during the attacks.

“A tragic scene, as you can imagine,” Ard said then.

A grand jury indicted Glenn on charges of second degree murder, attempt second degree murder, and attempt first degree rape when the victim resists but is overcome by force in September 2018.
