WALKER – A Walker police officer was treated and released from a Baton Rouge hospital Tuesday after a vehicle pulled into his path, according to a police spokesman.
“One of our motorcycle officers, Cpl. Daniel Sylve, was involved in a crash … on Florida Boulevard near Sunland after a vehicle pulled into his path,” said Capt. John Sharp, public information officer for the Police Deaprtment.
Sharp said Sylve and Officer Scott Glenn were traveling on Florida Boulevard.
“Officer Glenn was able to avoid the crash and was not injured,” Sharp said.
Sylve was transported by Air Med to a Baton Rouge hospital due to the uncertainty of his injuries and the inability to perform a thorough evaluation for possible internal injuries at the scene, Sharp said.
Sylve was released from the hospital Tuesday night after being treated for minor injuries, he said.
“Many of you have inquired about Corporal Sylve and we greatly appreciate the outpouring of concern,” Sharp said.
