Denham Springs and Walker students perform in 9/11 remembrance ceremony

Members of the mixed ensemble at the Louisiana School for Math, Science, and the Arts in Natchitoches performed “The Star Spangled Banner” and “America the Beautiful” in the quad on Monday, Sept. 11, in commemoration of the September 11 events of 16 years ago. Students playing in the mixed ensemble are Kathy Barrios, a senior from Houma; Mason Boudreaux, a sophomore from Thibodaux; Garett Byrne, a senior from Walker; Juan Cecchini, a junior from Denham Springs; Morgan Clendennen, a junior from Westlake; Josie Dial, a sophomore from Walker; Aaron Gotte, a sophomore from Iota; Hannah Hauptman, a junior from Denham Springs; Julian Hunter, a senior from Lafayette; Clara Kolterman, a senior from Sterlington; Daniel Metzger, a junior from Slidell; Abby Pace, a senior from Iowa; Austin Souphanthalop, a junior from New Iberia; and Jonas Truax, a junior from Denham Springs. Also pictured is Dr. Al Benner, chair of the Department of Creative and Performing Arts, leading the students.
