Livingston Parish Book Festival

Patrons scan through book titles inside the Main Branch of the Livingston Parish Library System during the Livingston Parish Book Festival on Saturday, Nov. 4, 2017. The public will get another chance to purchase books when Friends of the Livingston Library System FOLLS, a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting the mission and activities of the Livingston Parish Library System, holds a book sale at the Denham Springs-Walker Branch on Saturday, June 16.

How does a book for $1 sound?

For Friends of the Livingston Library System (FOLLS), it sounds just right.

A book sale sponsored by FOLLS, a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting the mission and activities of the Livingston Parish Library System, will take place at the Denham Springs-Walker Branch on Saturday, June 16.

The book sale, one of three FOLLS sponsors a year, will be held from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. at 8101 Florida Blvd., with most books priced at $1. All proceeds from the sale, which is open to the public, will go toward the Livingston Parish Library.

FOLLS, founded in 2009, accepts donations of boxes of books, movies, and music for their book sales throughout the year. Proceeds from the sales support many of the library’s programs, including the Summer Reading Program, activities of the Teen Advisory Board, adult services, and certain expenses of the Livingston Parish Book Festival.

Books for people of all ages will be available at Saturday’s event.

For more information, call the library at (225) 686-4140 or visit www.mylpl.info.
