Laine Hardy Day

Fans hold up signs spelling out "LAINE" before the parade celebrating American Idol finalist Laine Hardy in front of the Livingston Parish Fairgrounds on Tuesday, May 14.

It’s going to be a Hardy Watch Party.

The Town of Livingston will host a viewing party for American Idol finalist Laine Hardy at Circle Drive Park on Sunday, May 19.

The watch party, sponsored by Neighbors Federal Credit Union, will start at 6 p.m., with the Idol finale set to air at 7 p.m. People will be able to watch Hardy, a Livingston Parish native, go for the American Idol crown on two jumbo screen televisions.

“We’re truly appreciative of Neighbors for stepping up and not only making this event possible, but for showing so much support for one of Livingston Parish’s own,” said Town of Livingston Mayor David McCreary.

Before the finale, people will be treated to live entertainment from The Band Giacomo and Barrett Morgan. Pending availability, former American Idol contestant Ashton Gill will also perform.

The event is free and open to the public, Neighbors President and CEO Steve Webb said.

“We’re looking to forward to cheering on our member, Laine, as he completes his run on American Idol this week,” Webb said. “We would like to see everyone come out and join us for the Party with a Hardy Sunday night as we celebrate his incredible run.”

Hardy, a 2018 graduate of French Settlement High, will aim to become the 17th winner of American Idol, which is near the end of its second season on ABC. Hardy will sing against Alejandro Aranda of California and Madison VanDenburg of New York.
