LIVINGSTON – A human bone was found by a cleanup crew working on the Tickfaw River and the Livingston Parish Sheriff’s Office is trying to determine how it got there.
A debris cleanup crew found the bone tangled with debris Monday, Aug. 6, in the Tickfaw River south of La. 42, according to a Sheriff’s Office spokesman.
“There are a lot of unknowns here,” Sheriff Jason Ard said Thursday. “For example, how long has it been there? The (leg) bone is currently at the LSU FACES Laboratory being tested to determine the identity.
“It’s unclear how long it could take to get answers. Then, we’ll take those answers and attempt to connect the dots,” Ard said.
Anyone with information is asked to call the Sheriff’s Office at (225) 686-2241 ext. 1 or Crime Stoppers at (225) 344-STOP (7867).
