DENHAM SPRINGS – The Denham Springs City Council is scheduled to consider authorizing Mayor Gerard Landry to sign a cooperative endeavor agreement with Gravity Drainage District No. 1 to help cleaning ditches and drainage.

The resolution is on the agenda for the City Council meeting at 6 p.m. Tuesday.

Cleaning ditches and culverts have been an ongoing project in the city since the Great Flood of 2016.

The council will consider approving an application for a grant from Homeland Security for geographic information system (GIS) services for the Denham Springs Fire Department.

The council is also scheduled to consider authorizing the mayor to enter into a new lease agreement with George and Marilyn Driggers for Driggers Park.

 A public hearing also is scheduled for an ordinance to amend the Denham Springs Zoning Ordinance The amendment would add a paragraph for the purpose of considering a request to rezone from R-1 Residential to C-1 Light Commercial, Lot 11, Square 11, Shelly’s Homesites, 917 Wanda St.  

In other items on the agenda, the council is scheduled to:

--Take appropriate action on Change Order No. 1 in the amount of $2,619.66 to Buffalo Electric, Inc. for the Waste Water Treatment Plant MCC Replacement.

--Take appropriate action on the fourth and final payment of $9,614.70 to Buffalo Electric, Inc. for the Rushing Road Water Well electrical panel replacement.

--Take appropriate action to declare a Chevrolet Silverado, a police unit, as surplus.
