DENHAM SPRINGS – Anyone can become famous on social media, so Denham Springs police are trying to help one man become infamous.

And they have even written a script for him.

Two surveillance videos and still photos were released by the Police Department in its effort to identify suspects in recent vehicle burglaries.

With one video, a tongue-in-cheek first-person monologue was posted on the department’s Facebook page.

“Do you recognize me? I’m a thin, young white male. I wear my hat backwards, drop crotch pants, and tennis shoes,” the monologue says.

“I wear a chain around my neck with (possibly) a ring or large charm hanging from it. I like to ride in what appears to be a light color 4-door BMW 5 Series.

“My hobbies include going into other people’s vehicles at night and taking things that don't belong to me. I want to become famous, so I'm starting to appear in videos,” the monologue says.

“If you think you might know me, please call DSPD Detectives at (225) 665-5106, because they'd like to take a better picture of me. Thank you.”

Four photos were also posted on the department’s social media page showing the suspect and his vehicle.

Detectives released a second video from another vehicle burglary under investigation in Lakeland Acres, south of Interstate 12.
