INDEPENDENCE – Voters in Fire Protection District 11 will go to the polls Saturday to renew a millage.
The millage is a renewal for 10 years of a 10-mill property tax that helps fund Fire District 11.
The millage will raise an estimated $17,471 annually for Fire District 11, according to the proposition.
Funding will go to purchase fire trucks and other firefighting equipment.
It will also help build a building to store firefighting equipment and to serve as an office and communications center for the district.
Polls will open at 7 a.m. and close at 8 p.m.
