WHITEHALL – The state Department of Transportation and Development will have flagging operations in place on La. 22 at the Chinquapin Bridge beginning Wednesday, a DOTD official said.

The intermittent lane closures will be from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. until Thursday, March 29, said Kris Wascom, project engineer with the DOTD District 62 office in Hammond.

The lane closures are necessary to allow crews to replace cross drains, Wascom said.

To avoid the construction zone, motorists can use La. 16 to La. 444 to La. 22 as an alternate route, he said.
