LIVINGSTON – A section of Interstate 12, both eastbound and westbound, will have lane closures next week so crews can do asphalt work, according to the state Department of Transportation and Development.

The closures will be from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. Sunday through Saturday, July 15-21, said Kris Wascom, project engineer with the DOTD district office in Hammond.

The section to face single-lane closures is from three miles west of the Livingston (La. 63) interchange to one mile east of the Holden (La. 441) interchange, Wascom said.

At least one lane in each direction will remain open at all times, he said.

To avoid the construction zone, motorists can use U.S. 190 as an alternate route, he said.
