Interstate 12 lanes between Livingston and Holden face intermittent closures beginning Wednesday night.

LIVINGSTON – A section of Interstate 12, both eastbound and westbound, will have lane closures beginning Wednesday through Saturday, according to DOTD.

The lane closures are needed for crews to work on existing bridge joints in the work zone, said Kris Wascom, project engineer with the state Department of Transportation and Development office in Hammond.

The closures will be in effect from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. nightly, he said.

The work zone is approximately 3 miles west of the La 63 interchange in Livingston to 1 mile east of the La. 441 interchange in Holden, Wascom said.

One lane will remain open at all times, he said.

Motorists can take Florida Boulevard as an alternate route to avoid nightly lane closures during construction, Wascom said.
