LIVINGSTON – Due to this weekend’s forecast – 100 percent chance of rain -- Friday, Dec. 7, will be the last day volunteers will be accepting donations to Sheriff Jason Ard’s 2018 Christmas Crusade.
The annual drive to collect toys and distribute them to children who might not have anything for Christmas was scheduled to wrap up on Saturday and Sunday, Dec. 8-9.
The severe weather forecasts, which canceled the Fifth Annual Kiwanis Christmas Parade in Denham Springs, brought the decision, according to an announcement from the Livingston Parish Sheriff’s Office.
Volunteers will be accepting unwrapped toys or monetary donations until 7:30 p.m. Friday at the Walmarts in Denham Springs, Walker and Watson and Bass Pro shop in Denham Springs.
Monetary donations can be mailed to: Jason Ard's Christmas Crusade, P.O. Box 1515 Livingston, LA 70754.
All donations are tax deductible.
