Livingston Parish

LIVINGSTON -- The Livingston Parish Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness ordered all Livingston Parish waterways south of Interstate 12 closed to all recreational traffic until further notice.

Higher than normal tide effects from Hurricane Michael prompted the closure, according to Mark Harrell, director of the LOHSEP. The closure took effect at noon Tuesday, Oct. 9.

The National Weather Service predicts landfall Wednesday morning along the western portion of the Florida panhandle, near Panama City Beach.
