LIVINGSTON – A “peaceful demonstration” in protest of the May 4 ballot proposition for mosquito abatement will be postponed due to the rescheduling a meeting on the issue schedule for the same evening.
The rally will take place at 6 p.m. April 24, one hour before the informational meeting on the mosquito abatement program and how it will operate if voters approved the $3.00 fee to support it.
“This is meant entirely as a peaceful demonstration,” said District 3 Parish Council candidate Shannon Sloan, coordinator of the event. “We want people to know we oppose it, and I will hand out push-cards to let people know about the program.
“We also want people to be aware of the election date so they can vote against it,” she said.
