SATSUMA – A section of Interstate 12, both eastbound and westbound, will have lane closures Thursday and Friday so crews can do temporary striping, according to the state Department of Transportation and Development.

The section to face single-lane closures is from a half-mile east of the Satsuma interchange to one mile west of the interchange, said Kris Wascom, project engineer with the DOTD district office in Hammond.

The closures will be from 8 p.m. June 14, through 5 a.m. June 15, Wascom said.

At least one lane in each direction will remain open at all times, Wascom said.

To avoid the construction zone, motorists can use U.S. 190 as an alternate route, he said.
