shooter truck

The Livingston Parish Sheriff's Office released this photo of a older model blue Chevy S10 being driven by Michael Meade, 38, a suspect in a shooting in Watson.

WATSON – A suspect in a Watson area shooting that sent one man to the hospital has been caught, according to the Livingston Parish Sheriff’s Office.

Michael Meade, 38, was being sought in the shooting that occurred at noon Monday near Lotts Lane in the Watson area, Sheriff Jason Ard said.

The circumstances around his arrest and the charges he will face were not released.

“One victim, a male, was transported to a local hospital to be treated for more than one gunshot wound,” Ard said. “The victim was alert when transported.

“At this point in the investigation, it appears this was not a random act. We believe the suspect and the victim were familiar with one another,” Ard said.

“This investigation is still very much ongoing.”

The Sheriff's Office issued a bulletin that Meade was last seen in a blue, older model Chevrolet S10 with an extended cab and no front bumper. Plastic is being used for the back glass.

The Sheriff’s Office released a photo of the truck taken by a nearby surveillance camera.

Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to call the Sheriff’s Office at (225) 686-2241 ext. 1 or Greater Baton Rouge Crime Stoppers at (225) 344-STOP (7867).

I am in total disbelief that Michael Meade was involved in this crime. It breaks my heart because he was a very dear friend to me

It’s hard for me to believe that Michael Meade was involved in this crime. He is a good person and has always been a very dear friend to me over the years ❤️

My brother was too!! I hope he gets the maximum sentence for what he has done.

I wasn’t implying that your brother deserved this in anyway or that it wasn’t a tragedy for his family to endure. Just stating that it was hard for me to think Michael would have it in him to do this. And I also didn’t mean that there shouldn’t be punishment

We are the victims family. We need the communitys help. The hospital is not allowing his children their right to see him. His mother has stepped im and stopped us from seeing him. Please pray for us since he is not doing that well. And help us be able to get these kids in to see their father. They should be next of kin but because they are minord they are being told they cant see him so they have no voice. Please help.
