WATSON – A suspect in a Watson area shooting that sent one man to the hospital has been caught, according to the Livingston Parish Sheriff’s Office.
Michael Meade, 38, was being sought in the shooting that occurred at noon Monday near Lotts Lane in the Watson area, Sheriff Jason Ard said.
The circumstances around his arrest and the charges he will face were not released.
“One victim, a male, was transported to a local hospital to be treated for more than one gunshot wound,” Ard said. “The victim was alert when transported.
“At this point in the investigation, it appears this was not a random act. We believe the suspect and the victim were familiar with one another,” Ard said.
“This investigation is still very much ongoing.”
The Sheriff's Office issued a bulletin that Meade was last seen in a blue, older model Chevrolet S10 with an extended cab and no front bumper. Plastic is being used for the back glass.
The Sheriff’s Office released a photo of the truck taken by a nearby surveillance camera.
Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to call the Sheriff’s Office at (225) 686-2241 ext. 1 or Greater Baton Rouge Crime Stoppers at (225) 344-STOP (7867).
