Alan Ray Jones, a lifelong resident of Walker, passed away at the age of 60 at the Hospice of Baton Rouge on Sunday, April 15, 2018, after a short illness. Alan was the fourth child of Vernon Jones, Sr. and Dora Dee Stilley Jones. He was born on June 21, 1957, and became a master bricklayer. He is survived by his siblings, V.J. Jones and wife Glenda, Humbert Jones and wife Denise, and Elaine Leibenguth; eight nieces and nephews; and many extended family members who loved him. Alan is preceded in death by his parents, Vernon Jones and Dora Dee Stilley Jones; and grandparents Bud and Ella Jones, as well as Dupree and Dora Stilley. A special thanks to Hospice of Baton Rouge for their excellent care. Also, thanks to the special friends who were always there for him: Greg Jones, Jay Lagath, and Randolph “Rudy” Howard. Arrangements have been entrusted to McLin & Manley Funeral Home and Cremation Services. Visitation will be held at McLin and Manley Funeral Home in Walker on Wednesday, April 18, 2018 at 10 a.m. until services begin at noon officiated by Rev. Rusty Durand.
