James Lee Parnell passed away suddenly on Sunday, Oct. 7, 2018, in West Monroe, Louisiana, at the age of 49. He was born on Feb, 2, 1969, and raised in Georgetown, Louisiana. He was the youngest of 12 siblings and had many nieces and nephews that he loved dearly. James had a way of making anyone and everyone who was near him, smile. He sure knew how to light up a room with laughter. James is preceded in death by his mother, Millie Armstrong, and his father, Herbert Parnell. He is survived by his wife since 2003, Dana Parnell of Denham Springs; children, Kamie, Kayla, & Kelsey Miller; grandchildren, Blayklee, Bella, Zoey, Blayson, & Lakyn; nephew and best friend, JB Sullivan & Vicki Sanchez of Denham Springs; siblings, Denise & David Austin of Bently, LA, Marsha Sullivan of Georgetown, LA, Michael Parnell of Erwinville, LA, Tracey & Charles Portier of Albany, LA, Amy Pecora & Donald Ballard of Walker, LA, Janice and Louis Mocha of Deville, LA, and David and Jonda Parnell of Georgetown, LA. Our beloved father, brother, uncle, and friend will be missed deeply but never forgotten. We know that he will be rejoicing in heaven, singing Paint Me A Birmingham. Rest easy, Parnell. Arrangements have been entrusted to McLin & Manley Funeral Home. Online condolences may be left at www.mclinfuneralhome.com.
