Leni Jeanette Ambacher Pierce would like to let you know that her work here is done. She received a call, a sort of an offer you can’t refuse, for an appointment from which she will not be returning. This assignment comes with a huge sign-on bonus, a reunion with family and friends she has not seen in a long time. Her new mission takes her to a wonderful place where she will be socializing, painting, gardening and reading to her heart’s content. Music, laughter and love are guaranteed. At 1:05 a.m. on Jan 19, 2019, Leni met her Lord and Savior face to face after a 12-year battle with Alzheimer's. Her devotion to her family and her firm belief in God supported her and ultimately gave her peace. Leni was born in Marbach, Germany, on March 31,1938, to parents William and Elfrieda Ambacher. She moved to the Washington Parish, Louisiana area where she married the love of her life, Luzon P. Pierce on Sept. 2, 1956. She is the precious mother of 2 sons, Rodney (and Mary) Pierce of Denham Springs, Steven Pierce of Gulfport, Ms. and a daughter Barbara (and David) Carawan of Denham Springs. She is the proud grandmother of 13 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister, Doris Zimmerman of Moody, Ala., sister-in-law, Marie Grantham of Bush, La., numerous nieces and nephews and many close family friends. She was a member of Northside Baptist Church in Denham Springs, La., a board member for Dreams Come True and The Safehouse for Battered Women & Children. She was a member of the Denham Springs Fine Arts Association, where she was an accomplished painter. She was a volunteer for WRKF Radio Station. Her hobbies included photography, writing poetry and limericks, calligraphy and life in general. A Celebration of Life will be held at Northside Baptist Church, located at 200 Cockerham Road, Denham Springs, LA, beginning with visitation at 1 p.m. and the service at 2 p.m. Special thanks to the staff of Hospice In His Care, Mrs. Lou Cronin and Kristy Ott. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you make a donation to Northside Baptist Church Parking Lot Fund at 200 Cockerham Road, Denham Springs, LA 70726.
