Livingston Parish Fire Protection District 4 teams with Mighty Moms

Mighty Moms has teamed with Livingston Parish Fire Protection District 4 to collect food items as part of the department’s annual Christmas tour through Walker.

WALKER – Livingston Parish Fire Protection District 4 and Santa will be doing double duty this weekend.

Three tours in Districts, 1, 4 and 8 – canceled Dec. 8 due to weather conditions – are on for Saturday, Dec. 15. The tours of Districts 1 and 4 will roll at 9 a.m.; District 8 will be at 1 p.m.

Santa and Fire District 4 also will be touring Districts 6 and 9 at 9 a.m. and District 3 at 10 a.m. on Dec. 15.

On Sunday, Dec. 16, the holiday tour will complete the District 3 area at 1 p.m. and visit District 5’s coverage area beginning at 2 p.m.

Santa and Fire District 4 also will be helping the Mighty Moms food pantry.

A vehicle will be following the fire truck carrying Santa and will accept non-perishable food items.

Mighty Moms works with the Livingston Parish school system and Livingston Parish Library to provide food to children who might not get adequate meals.

Due to safety concerns, Santa will not be able to stop on any state highway, according to the Fire District 4 announcement.

Children and adults should be careful when they approach the fire truck in their neighborhood.

At 9 a.m. Dec. 15, Santa will begin his Station 6 tour, leaving the station and going south on Avants Road (North Ridge Drive, Seminole Road, Savannah Drive), then east on Courtney Road (Briarwood Street to Courtney Circle), north on Walker North Road (Dunlap Hall Road, Galloways Gardens, Joycelynn Road, Rough Lane, Louisiana Purchase Equestrian Estates. He will then go east on Cane Market Road to Nancy Drive, then west on Cane Market Road and south on Mack Road.

Santa will take Walker North Road to Arnold and go north on Percy Young Road (Cameron Lane), west on Cane Market Road, south on Perkins Road (Billie Drive, Thibodeaux Road), then east on Arnold Road (Lake Pointe Boulevard, Nikki Drive, Pattie Anne). He will then go south on Burgess Road (Hummingbird Road, Blue Jay Lane, Crossover Boulevard, C.R. Price MHP. Santa will then head back north on Burgess Road and east on Arnold Road to Duff Road (south on Duff Road to Wilkinson Lane). He will head back north on Duff Road, then east on Arnold Road (Butch Bennett Road) and end at Station 6.

Santa’s Station 9 tour will start at 9 a.m. on Hillon Hood Road, go right on 4-H Club Road, left onto Nicken’s Lake, left through Harrel’s Ferry Landing, north on 4-H Club Road, left through Carryon, south on 4-H Club Road, left on Harris Road, left into Plantation Lakes, left on Harris Road, right on Henderson, right on La. 16, left into Whittington Subdivision, left on La. 16, left into Southpoint main entrance, right on Whitehall, left on Woodhaven, left on Parkland, right on Southpoint, right on Springhill, left on Woodlore, left on Country Manor, right on Teakwood, left on Wellington and left on Southpark.

Santa will then go left on Country Manor, right on Westwood (crossover), left on Springhill, right on Rosemont, left on Shadybend, turn into Sandlewood, left on Rosemont, left on Springhill, left on Terrace, right on Springhill, left on Falconcrest, right on Brandon, right on Brown, right on Bell Meadow, left on Fair Weather, left on Sundown, left on Rolling Meadows, right on Brown, left on Marlene, Kenneth, Donna and Connie, then left on Brown, right on Joe May Road (no sirens) to Hammack, left on Hammack to the end and back on La. 16 and right on La. 16.

Santa will then go right on Garney Hood, left on Priscilla, back out on Garney Wood, cross La. 16 to Mincey Street, right on Green Acres, right on Mincey, left on 4-H Club Road, left on Helen, right on 4-H Club Road, left on Bond to the end and back, left on 4-H Club Road (no sirens), right on Mincey Street (no sirens), left on La. 16, right on Kirby, right on Cabo, left on Citation, left on Mary Lee, right on Cabo, right on Kirby to the end and back, right on La. 16, right into Oakridge, right on La. 16 (no sirens), left at Hillon Hood and end at Station 9.

At 9 a.m., Santa will leave Station 1 and go west on Florida Boulevard from South Palmetto Street, north on Peak Lane, Milton Road, Burgess Road (Whispering Oaks, Denham Place, Judaloo Drive, Aberdeen Acres), left on Lockhart Road (Juniper Street to Tupelo Street), right on Burgess Avenue, right on Florida Boulevard, Leach Lane, Willow Glenn Street, Suburban Acres, Magnolia Street, Red Oak Street, right on Pendarvis Lane, Pleasant Ridge Subdivision, Hidden Ridge Subdivision, Three Lakes, Pen Val Subdivision, Wolf Point Subdivision.

Then south on Walker South Road to Sunny Lane, Glenn Ellis Road, Pine View Loop, Glascock Lane, north on Gaylord Road South, Milton Lane, Spring Ranch Road, South Satsuma Road, south to Drakeford McMorris Road, Black Mud Road, to McArthur Drive to Chelsea Street to Lockhart Lane, south on Gaylord Drive, Rae Drive, Hartman Lane, Vera McGowan Road, north on Walker South Road, Brian Park Subdivision, Aydell Lane and all side streets to Gaylord Road, Achord Lane, Morning Glory, west on Florida Boulevard, Aster Street, Joe Stafford Street, Fletcher Lane, Burns Lane and South Palmetto Road.

Also at 9 a.m., the Santa Tour will begin its Station 4 route, going right on La. 16, left on Scivicque Road, right on 4-H Club Road, right on Stone Bridge Court, right on 4-H Club, left on Debbie Lane, left on 4-H Club Road, left on Carew Harris Road, left on Fontenot Road, right on Carew Harris Road, right on 4-H Club Road with lights or sirens left on Scivicque with no sirens, right on La. 16, left on Montrose, left on La. 16, left on Bonne Drive, Ed Drive and Shirley Drive, left on La. 16, visit trailer park, last house on 4-H Club Road, south on La. 16, left on Vincent Acres.

Then left on La. 16, left on Vincent Place, left on Saun Drive, left on Bree Drive, left on Justin Drive, left on Vincent Place, left on Walker South Road, right on Ben Jones Road and turn-around, right on Walker South Road, left on Allen/Cullen Road, right on Andrews Road, left on Walker South Road, left on Brittany Court, left on Walker South Road, left on Genre Drive, left on Walker South Road, left on Ruth Lane, left on Walker South Road, right on Walker South Road, left into Oak Forest Mobile Home Park, left on Walker South Road, right on Oakwood Lane and right on Walker South Road.

At 10 a.m. Dec. 15, Santa will begin his Station 3 tour, heading south/west on La. 1019 from La. 16 and turn down all roads and subdivisions off La. 1019 with adequate turnarounds from Live Oak Village to Bessie Drive. Santa will then start back on La. 1019/La. 16 and go south on La. 16, turning down all adequate roads on the west side of La. 16 to Parham Avenue. He will then proceed north on La. 16, turning down all adequate roads on the east side of La. 16, including Cane Market Road to Clinton Allen Road.

Also at 1 p.m., Santa and his group will begin a route covering the Station 8 area. They will cover Sims Road, Shelby Drive, Little Woods Drive, Hess Road, Nan Wesley Road, Live Oak Landing Subdivision, Hornsby Drive, Applewood Drive, Rhonda Drive, Cassie Drive, Walker North Road to Baptiste Drive, North Morgan Drivee, Salem Cemetery Road, Joe Lee Road and Tyler Ballard Road.

At 1 p.m. Dec. 16, Santa will continue in the Station 3 area, heading east on Springfield Road (La. 1019) and turning down all adequate roads and subdivisions off La. 1019 east until reaching Fore Road. He will proceed on Fore Road, then go north on La. 16 until turning around at Simms Road. Santa will continue south on La. 16, turning own all adequate roads and subdivisions off La. 16 until reaching La. 1019.
