BROUSSARD -- French Settlement scored a pair of runs in the bottom of the 6th inning to pick up a 6-5 win over Holden in the Episcopal of Acadiana Tournament on Saturday.
The Rockets scored an 11-0 win over Northside Christian earlier in the day as Brian Smith hurled a three-hitter with nine strikeouts.
FSHS 6, HOLDEN 5
The Lions trailed 5-4 when Gannon Allison was hit by a pitch to get the rally started. Allison moved to third on Brody Bell's sacrifice bunt and Riley Keller's single before scoring on an error to tie the game at 5-5.
Keller stole third and scored the winning run on an error.
FSHS (6-3) jumped ahead 3-0 in the bottom of the 1st on a single, two hit batters and three walks, and Brice Fruge stole home in the 3rd to push the lead to 4-0.
Holden's (5-2) Phillip Davidson and Nick Forbes had RBI singles and another run scored on an error to cut the lead to 4-3 in the top of the 4th, and Holden went ahead 5-4 in the 5th after Scott Robertson and Dustin Rushing singled, and the Rockets picked up a pair of runs on an error and a wild pitch.
Ben Andrews worked two scoreless innings, giving up two walks with one strikeout to get the win in relief of Roman Hodges, who gave up four walks, six hits and struck out seven in five innings as the starter.
Luke LeBourgeois gave up three hits, three runs and struck out four in 5.1 innings of relief to take the loss.
HOLDEN 11, NORTHSIDE CHRISTIAN 0
The Rockets led 3-0 after three innings and scored three in the 5th and five in the 6th to put the game away.
Smith, Robertson, Rushing and Forbes each had two hits for Holden, which had 10 in the game. Robertson had three RBIs and Rushing and Donald Wilkinson each had two.
Holden travels to face The Church Academy at 4 p.m. Tuesday, while Maurepas hosts French Settlement at 4 p.m. Tuesday.
