PLAQUEMINE – Doyle used a pair of big innings as the catalyst to an 8-2 win over Plaquemine on Tuesday.

The Tigers scored four runs in the top of the 2nd, and the Green Devils rallied for a pair in the bottom of the inning.

Doyle put together a three-run 3rd and added another run in the top of the 6th to close out the scoring.

Hunter Mizell (1-0) picked up the win for the Tigers (6-7).

Trenton Mizell was 1-for-3 with a triple and 3 RBIs, Colten Newsome was 2-for-3 with an RBI, Cole Mack went 1-for-2 with 2 RBIs and Mason Davis was 2-for-4 as Doyle had nine hits.

Doyle takes on Riverdale at 3 p.m. Thursday as part of the Doyle Tiger Classic.
