Tyson Stewart went 3-for-3 with a two-run home run while driving in six runs, helping Doyle to an 11-1 win over Springfield, helping the Tigers clinch the District 10-2A series Thursday at Johnny Sartwell Park.

Stewart started his big day early with a three-run double in the first inning before Bryden Dowers’ RBI single in the top of the second cut the lead to 3-1.

Braden Keen had a two-run double, and Stewart followed with a two-run home run to left, pushing the lead to 7-1 in the bottom of the second.

Stewart and Cole Mack had two-run doubles as part of a four-run fourth inning to put the game away.

Keen went 2-for-3 with two RBIs and three runs as Doyle had eight hits. Collin Hayden, Russell Egnew, Trent Fischer, Nick Macaluso and Dowers had hits for Springfield.

Andrew Yuratich struck out five and walked four while giving up a run in five innings to get the win.

Kendall Stanga and Dowers combined to give up eight hits, 11 runs, four walks and two strikeouts for the Bulldogs.
