Albany drained nine 3-pointers to key a 73-43 road win over Bogalusa on Friday, which also served as the Lady Hornets' first victory in District 7-3A play.
The Lady Hornets led 43-17 at halftime and extended the lead to 63-24 heading into the fourth quarter.
Camryn Woods led Albany with 16 points, including four 3-pointers, while Devyn Hoyt and Maddy Oubre each scored nine points. Hoyt hit three 3-pointers as 11 players scored for Albany.
The Lady Hornets picked up the win despite going 12-for-25 at the free-throw line.
SPRINGFIELD 46, BELAIRE 18
Springfield held Belaire to single digits in every quarter to notch the win.
The Lady Bulldogs (12-9) led 16-8 at halftime and outsscored Belaire 13-8 in the third quarter.
Lori Martin, who led Springfield with 17 points, had three 3-pointers in the third quarter. Jamiracle Joseph added seven points and Destiny Reed chipped in six as all nine Springfield players who played scored.
ALBANY 54, BOGALUSA 53
Damien McAlister hit a 3-pointer with eight seconds left, lifting the Hornets to their first district win of the season.
Albany (13-10, 1-1) trailed 43-39 heading into the fourth quarter and was down seven points with 1:30 to play.
McAlister hit the trey to put the Hornets ahead, and Bogalusa called timeout before losing control of the ball on the ensuing possession. A jump ball was called with two seconds left, and the Hornets were awarded possession, allowing them to run out the clock.
Reid Rayborn's 3-pointer as the first-quarter buzzer sounded knotted the score at 15 before the Lumberjacks went into halftime leading 28-27.
McAlister led Albany with 20 points, while Caleb Puma added 12, Rayborn scored 10 and Tyler Quamme finished with nine after getting into foul trouble in the third quarter.
The Hornets, who have won 11 of their past 16 games, went 9-for-20 at the free-throw line, while Bogalusa was 3-for-13.
MAUREPAS 43, ASCENSION CHRISTIAN 41
Maurepas' Tyler Anderson hit a 3-pointer at the buzzer, lifting the Wolves to the win.
The Wolves 19-13 at halftime before Ascension Christian cut the lead to 27-26 heading into the fourth quarter.
Anderson, who hit three 3-pointers, led the Wolves with 18 points, nine of which came in the fourth quarter. Landon Loupe added 10 points, and Aiden McCoy scored eight.
HOLDEN 59, JOHNSON BAYOU 46
Holden used a big third-quarter run to spark a 59-46 Homecoming victory over Johnson Bayou on Friday.
The Rockets (16-10) led 26-19 at halftime and used a 20-11 run in the third quarter to pad the lead.
Johnson Bayou outscored Holden 16-13 in the fourth quarter.
Nick Forbes led the Rockets with 18 points, Dylan Gueldner added 15, John Sharp and Cole Forbes each scored 10 and Lane Sykes added six points.
BATON ROUGE 2, WALKER 1
Baton Rouge High remained in a tie for the District 3, Division I lead, breaking a 1-1 tie in the final seven minutes of play on a penalty kick.
The Lady Cats (8-5-1, 1-2 in district) were locked in a 1-1 tie at halftime on Abby Crotwell's well on an assist from Faith Walton.
Walker returns to action at 6 p.m. Monday at Denham Springs.
