My name is Morgan Major. My husband and I are the youth pastors at Abundant Life Church in Denham Springs.
We have exciting news to share with our community.
As we all know, our community suffered a devastating experience, but one thing was a common denominator and that is that we shared it together, and together, our community will rise back up. The entire community experienced the flood, in one way or another.
Our church campus experienced flooding in all five of our buildings. We are holding church services in the building that got the least amount of water. It will be some time before we are even able to begin on our main sanctuary.
One of our priorities was rebuilding our 180 youth building, which took in 3-4 feet of water.
The teenagers in our community need a safe and common ground to go to, a place to fellowship and to worship. As a bonus to our community, we are excited to announce that we have a full-size indoor basketball/volleyball court in our youth building now.
It has been a humbling and grueling six-month labor of love, in rebuilding.
To make the most use of money, our staff, including our pastor, Greg Beatty, along with many volunteers, worked day and night to rebuild our center for our youth.
To have those staff and volunteers work so hard to get our students back into a familiar and safe place means the world to our family, as we have three sons who are a part of the youth group.
We will be having our relaunch service in our new youth center on Wednesday, Feb. 15, at 6:30 p.m. and would like our community to know this and be a part of it.
This will be the first service we have had in our 180 center in six months.
We are having our 180 Relaunch party on Friday, March 3.

We invite teenagers from across our community to come and be a part of this exciting time. There will be a DJ.
Another part of our great community has come back. Together, we rebuild.
