BASEBALL | Doyle edges Maurepas in 7th inning

MAUREPAS -- Colten Newsom's RBI single in the 7th lifted Doyle to a 4-3 win over Maurepas on Monday

Maurepas led 2-1 after two innings, but the Tigers tied it up in the 6th on Chase Guitreau's RBI single.

Kolt Mitchell gave up 11 hits, three runs, five walks and struck out three in a complete-game win.

Dillon Quamme gave up three hits, one run and struck out one in an inning of relief work to take the loss.

Guitreau gave up six hits, three runs, three walks and struck out five in five innings as the starter. Hunter Dupuy gave up two hits, no runs, a walk and a strikeout in an inning of relief.

Hunter Mizell was 2-for-4, Newsom went 3-for-4 with an RBI and a run scored and Tyson Stewart went 2-for-4 with an RBI to lead Doyle.

Dupuy went 2-for-4 with an RBI and a run scored, Peyten Sturges went 1-for-2 with two runs scored and Michael Vannapha was 2-for-4 with an RBI to lead Maurepas.
