For the second straight month, young and old artists alike are being featured at the Arts Council of Livingston Parish.

The Arts Council is currently hosting the “Established and Emerging Artist” Exhibit for the months of April and May.

There are more than 40 art pieces on display throughout the gallery, created by 13 of the Arts Council’s Juried Artists and eight seniors in Virginia Berthelot’s Art 3 Class at Denham Springs High School.

The exhibit features mostly acrylic paintings, but there are pencil drawings, mixed media pieces, photography, and one 6-foot-high clay, stoneware and salt-fired sculpture.

The two-month exhibit began Wednesday, April 4, and will end on Saturday, May 26. The gallery is located in the Denham Springs Antique Village at 133 Hummell Street and is open Wednesday-Friday from 10 a.m. until noon and Saturday from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m.

A reception will be held on Saturday, April 14,from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. Some of the artists will be present, and light refreshments will be provided.

Last month, the Arts Council housed two exhibits simultaneously: One featured 2017 ACLP Artist of the Year Liz Harman’s six-piece series titled “Things We Love,” and the other featured more than 30 environmentally-focused pieces by gifted and talented art students from Albany and Holden.
