DENHAM SPRINGS -- A Denham Springs woman was arrested on one count of simple arson Friday after she set her couch on fire "to get the devil out."

JoLynn Winn, 53, was taken into custody at the Livingston Parish Detention Center after an investigation by the Louisiana Office of the State Fire Marshal.

Bond was set at $125,000.

Livingston Parish Fire Protection District 4 sought investigation from the OSFM after the blaze in the 11000 block of Arnold Road.

Winn was suffering from smoke inhalation when firefighters arrived. She was treated at a local hospital before the investigation began.

The fire began in the living room of her mobile home. Investigators concluded that the fire started on the couch, which she confessed to setting ablaze.
