DENHAM SPRINGS – A fundraiser July 28 will benefit the family of Beaux Bailey, the local contractor who was slain in a double homicide Sunday in River Ridge Subdivision, south of Denham Springs.

The event will be held in front of Papi’s at Oak Point Shopping Center from noon-til, according to Brent Ballard, Bailey’s longtime friend.

The Veterans Help Foundation is coordinating the event. Mike Anderson's Seafood and Gerry Lane Enterprises will sponsor the fundraiser.

Bailey was shot and killed at his home on the 9000 block of Ridgeway Avenue (off 4-H Club Road). Evidence gathered during the initial stage in the investigate has led detectives to believe the shooting was not part of a random home invasion, according to Livingston parish Sheriff Jason Ard.

The case remains under investigation.

Bailey is survived by a wife and five children.

“Beaux was a great guy … you couldn’t find a better person,” Ballard said. “We want to step up and do whatever we can to help.”

The fundraiser will run from noon-til’, with the Chase Tyler Band set to perform from 3-5 p.m.

The event will also include a cookoff competition for pastalaya, jambalaya and ribs. Plates will sell for $10 each.

An auction will also be held at the event. A raffle drawing will also take place at the events. Tickets are now on sale.
