Road striping to close Interstate 12 lanes for four days, DOTD says

LIVINGSTON – A section of Interstate 12, both eastbound and westbound lanes, will have lane closures beginning Wednesday evening, according to the state Department of Transportation and Development.

The closures will be from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. Wednesday through Saturday, Aug. 15-18, said Kris Wascom, project engineer with the DOTD district office in Hammond.

Work crews will be striping the roadway, he said.

The section to face single-lane closures is from three miles west of the Livingston (La. 63) interchange to one mile east of the Holden (La. 441) interchange, Wascom said.

At least one lane in each direction will remain open at all times, he said.

To avoid the construction zone, motorists can use U.S. 190 as an alternate route, he said.
