The Denham Springs High School football Yellow Jackets take the field at Central last Friday for their annual rivalry game. Denham Springs prevailed, 28-6, to move to 3-0. Friday the Yellow Jackets host Scotlandville in a critical game to put the Yellow Jackets in position to win the title in two weeks when co-league leader Zachary visits.

Springfield quarterback Milan Love powers ahead with the football against Walker. Love ran for a touchdown, passed for two others and connected on a critical two-point conversion in overtime to win that game for the Bulldogs, 43-42. Love this season so far has completed 29 passes in 55 attempts (52 percent) for 395 yards and four touchdowns. He is also the Dogs’ second leading rusher with 222 yards on 47 keepers (4.7 avg.)

Walker quarterback Terry Bozeman is pulled down for a loss against Scotlandville. Though the Hornets sacked the Walker quarterback eight times, he also completed 25 of 40 for 246 yards and two touchdowns, with one interception. Bozeman’s arm has been a bright spot for the 0-6 Wildcats as he has thrown for 1,920 yards and 19 touchdowns so far this season. He as completed 112 of 204 pass attempts, with 10 interceptions.
