The Denham Springs Lady Yellow Jackets take home the state runner-up trophy from the Fast 56 state championship softball tournament in Sulphur last Saturday. The Live Oak softball team celebrates its third consecutive trip to the state softball tournament in Sulphur following a second-round playoff win at home over defending state champion Sulphur. Live Oak reached the semifinals before bowing out to eventual 2014 champion Ouachita Parish. Members of the team, which won the District 4-5A championship this season, include head coach Michelle Morris and assistants Britney Knight, Mischa Rabalais and Lyndsay Johnson and players Payton Gremillion, Virginia Cacioppo, Hailey Freeman, Amanda Holliday, Kaitlyn Ourso, Lauren Brown, Savannah Hall, Ally Howard, Katelyn Mclin, Ashton Priester, Breanna Stout, Giselle Ash, Laney Chandler, Lexi McCoy, Kelsey Miller, Cameron Seals, Kendall Theriot and Presley Wascom.
