A 35-year-old Mississippi man was arrested Wednesday in connection with a February shooting in Springfield in which an Amazon delivery driver allegedly fired a gun at a Livingston Parish resident, the Livingston Parish Sheriff's Office said.

Jared Tillman, of Jackson, Mississippi, was taken into custody April 15 in Jackson with the help of the U.S. Marshals Service. He will be extradited to Louisiana and booked into the Livingston Parish Detention Center.

Deputies were first called to Horsebluff Road in Springfield in February after reports that an Amazon driver had discharged a firearm.

"During our investigation, the complainant said when they told the driver to slow down, the Amazon driver then produced a firearm and began firing rounds in the direction of the complainant before fleeing the area," Sheriff Jason Ard said.

Detectives identified Tillman as the driver and obtained a warrant for his arrest. He was working for a contract company at the time of the incident.

The investigation is ongoing.
