HAMMOND – Southeastern Louisiana University baseball student-athletes Blake Lobell, Peyton Woods, Connor Cuff and Logan Freche earned All-Academic honors from the Southland Conference, the league office announced Thursday.

Lobell, a general studies major with a 3.64 GPA, picked up the first All-Academic recognition of his SLU career after having twice been named to the All-Conference squad. The senior and former Springfield standout finished the season with a 4-2 record and 4.84 ERA, ranking fourth in the conference with 74.1 innings pitched.

Woods, a general studies major with a 3.73 GPA, adds to his postseason honors, having already been named a first-team All-Conference selection and the league’s Hitter of the Year. The junior, a former Doyle standout, hit .358 with six home runs and 27 RBIs on his way to leading the conference in both batting average and on-base percentage (.465) in 2026.

Cuff, a general studies major with a 3.36 GPA, finished the year with a late-season offensive surge on the way to earning a spot on the Southland’s All-Tournament team. The native of Carthage, Texas wrapped up his junior season hitting .301 with 16 home runs and 51 RBIs, ranking in the conference’s Top 10 for OPS, slugging percentage, runs scored, doubles, home runs and RBIs.

Freche, a kinesiology major with a 3.50 GPA, earned the first postseason honors of his collegiate career. The freshman from Loranger led the Lion pitching staff in appearances and turned in the lowest ERA of any SLU reliever.

To be eligible for inclusion on the Southland Conference All-Academic Team, student-athletes must carry a 3.25 cumulative GPA or higher, while a 3.50 GPA is the minimum to be considered for SLC Student-Athlete of the Year.
