DENHAM SPRINGS — A Denham Springs man who is a Tier 2 registered sex offender has been arrested following an Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force investigation, according to the Livingston Parish Sheriff’s Office.

Sheriff Jason Ard said detectives with the LPSO ICAC Task Force, working with the Louisiana Attorney General’s Louisiana Bureau of Investigation, opened an investigation after receiving cyber tips from the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children regarding possible child pornography.

Through the investigation, authorities identified the suspect as Jackson Neyland Jr., a resident of Denham Springs. Evidence showed Neyland possessed 31 files of child sexual abuse material, Ard said.

Neyland, who was convicted of sexual battery in 2021, is a Tier 2 registered sex offender required to remain on the registry until 2046. He was booked on the following charges:

  • 31 counts of possession of child sexual abuse material (LRS 14:81.1)

  • 4 counts of failure to register and notify as a sex offender or child predator (LRS 15:542.1.4)

Additional charges may be filed as the investigation continues, officials said.

The sheriff’s office also reminded the public that its ICAC Task Force offers free educational presentations to local groups about online safety. To schedule a presentation, residents can call 225-435-1365.
