LIVINGSTON — A Denham Springs man has been sentenced to 45 years in prison after pleading guilty to sex crimes involving multiple juveniles, according to the 21st Judicial District Attorney’s Office.
District Attorney Scott Perrilloux said Daniel K. Johnson, 47, pleaded guilty to three counts of sexual battery where the victim was under the age of 13.
The case began when one juvenile came forward to report the abuse, Perrilloux said. Investigators later identified three victims in total.
Detectives with the Livingston Parish Sheriff’s Office corroborated the victims’ claims during the investigation. Authorities also discovered that Johnson, while being interviewed by police, called his wife and instructed her to remove the SIM cards from all cell phones in their home, Perrilloux said.
Johnson’s guilty plea guaranteed a conviction and spared the victims from having to testify at trial, according to prosecutors.
Perrilloux praised the work of LPSO detectives and Assistant District Attorney Brett Sommer, who prosecuted the case, as well as the Child Advocacy Center in Denham Springs for providing ongoing support to the victims.
“This was a thorough and complete investigation,” Perrilloux said.
