A Denham Springs man was sentenced to a total of 75 years in prison after pleading guilty to multiple charges involving the sexual exploitation of children, according to 21st Judicial District Attorney Scott Perrilloux.

Cory R. Thames, 36, appeared before Judge Brian Abels and pleaded guilty to two counts of indecent behavior with juveniles, one count of computer-aided solicitation of a minor, two counts of possession of pornography involving juveniles, and six counts of production of pornography involving juveniles.

The investigation began after Louisiana Probation and Parole officers identified suspicious activity during a routine compliance check and alerted the Livingston Parish Sheriff’s Office, Perrilloux said. Investigators reviewed electronic devices, social media accounts, and other digital evidence, uncovering child sexual abuse material and evidence of inappropriate online communication with juveniles.

Assistant District Attorney Serena Birch prosecuted the case.

“This 75-year sentence reflects the severity of these crimes and our commitment to holding those who exploit children accountable,” Birch said.

Perrilloux credited Probation and Parole officers for identifying the activity and thanked the Sheriff’s Office, particularly Detective Kyle Hotard, for its investigation.
