DENHAM SPRINGS, La. — Police have identified the suspect in a stabbing that occurred Friday evening on Hummell Street.
According to the Denham Springs Police Department, officers were dispatched around 7:12 p.m. on March 13 in response to a reported stabbing. When officers arrived, they located a victim who said he had been involved in a physical altercation with another man and suffered a stab wound to the abdomen.
Authorities said the victim is expected to make a full recovery.
Police identified the suspect as 19-year-old Xavier Parker. Investigators said Parker fled the scene but later contacted police from a nearby location to report the incident. He was subsequently taken into custody.
Parker has been charged with second-degree aggravated battery, home invasion, and theft.
The investigation remains ongoing, and no additional information has been released.
