On October 23, 2025, at approximately 7:02 PM, the Denham Springs Police Department was dispatched to I-12 near mile marker 10 regarding a motor vehicle crash involving a pedestrian.
Witnesses reported that the pedestrian was walking on the inside shoulder of I-12 and attempted to cross the interstate at the time of the accident. The pedestrian was struck by an oncoming vehicle and sustained fatal injuries, being pronounced dead at the scene.
As of now, the pedestrian has not been identified.
It is believed that impairment was not a contributing factor in the crash. The investigation is still ongoing, and no further details are available at this time.
