The event is the original and flagship Juneteenth program started in Denham Springs. It will feature a special appearance by Atoiya S. Harris, senior counsel at Proskauer Rose LLP, along with city and parish officials.
Attendees can expect speeches, musical performances, scholarships, and presentations, as well as awards recognizing local students. Children from Camp Empowerment, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, will present their own works and performances.
Refreshments will be served. The celebration is free and open to the community.
